Q Do you consider yourself a typical model?
Duan I rarely say so judging from my looks. People say I have strange but captivating eyes. I sometimes wonder if anyone out there resembles me.
Q Are you a social media addict? Do you think it has shaped part of your identity?
Duan I wouldn’t say I’m addicted, since I try to keep my hands off social media for a day every now and then. However, I agree that it has shaped a part of me because whenever people recognise me on the streets, they tend to call me by my Instagram handle instead of my real name. My friends do so too!
Q Do you see modelling as a lifelong career? What would your dream job be if you weren’t a model?
Duan Modelling is my dream job! I want to become a makeup artist as well, but I am not sure where to start. If I weren’t a model though, I could still be studying in university. As for my future plans, modelling is on the agenda for the next ten years, but I might try out different things afterwards.

Q What is the essence of your work and life?
Duan Carpe diem. I used to overthink a lot and really stress myself out. As a result, I missed out on many of life’s enjoyable and precious moments. These days, I am thankful for all that I’ve learnt from the past. Being grateful for my experiences is the most important thing in both my work and everyday life.
