In Greek mythology, the Hesperides were the guardian of the garden nymph with the noble "golden apples": citrus fruits. A perfume with a shiny, green freshness: the aromas of the fruit become more pungent with spicy notes.

In 1961, Christiane Gautrot, Desmond Knox-Leet and Yves Coueslant founded Diptyque. The friends designed fabric and started making scents to match their textiles. Illustrator Pierre Marie created the new Art Nouveau-inspired Diptyque packaging and stained glass.
